Massage Therapy for Relaxation and Relief

Do you feel like your muscles are tied in a knot like a pretzel? Do the stresses of life have you seeking soothing relief and tranquility? If you answered yes to one or both questions, you might benefit from massage therapy.

Massage therapy is also a great complement to chiropractic care. Massage can be helpful if a person’s body is too tight for the chiropractor to perform a manipulation. As a beneficial mode of natural medicine, massage can loosen up tight muscles so the chiropractor can manipulate the vertebrae and the spine.

I recently changed my appointment time for massage from 1 hour to 2 hours. I feel the benefit of this worth the change.  It allows Dale to revisit the problem area more than once and therefore work out the muscle tension.  The extra time also allows other areas of the body affected by the problem area to be treated.

In combination with chiropractic care, massage therapy can help improve circulation and muscle tone.

Just as chiropractic is a natural and safe method of helping the body to heal, massage therapy is an alternative type of medicine that yields many benefits. At Langley Sports & Rehabilitation, we offer two types of massage therapy:

Deep Tissue: Deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper layers of the muscle tissue. This type of massage aims to release any chronic patterns of tension in the body through specific strokes. Deep tissue massage uses deep pressure on the contracted areas. We also look for trigger points and work to stop referred patterns of pain. With deep tissue massage, tiny, hidden tense spots in the body get released.

Swedish Massage: Using some of the most popular massage techniques, Swedish massage releases toxins from muscles and increases oxygen flow in the blood.

Anyone who is looking to relax not just the body but also the mind can benefit. The mind-body connection is quite strong and powerful. That’s why anybody who wants to de-stress to relax their mind and body would benefit from it — not just on a physical level but also on a mental and emotional level too.

Whether you’re looking for relief, relaxation, or both, discover how massage therapy can help you feel great! Contact us today to schedule an appointment.
