MCRP NECK MACHINEAccommodating the specific actions of a muscle is crucial in the transfer of gains from training to real life environments due to the specificity of the training response. In the early stages of training, as would be the case in a rehabilitation environment, gains in strength are attributable mainly to neurological adaptations which are specific to the movement pattern. So in meeting the criteria if cervical conditioning a whiplash patient a machine must be able to accommodate not only unilateral but multi-lateral direction training over the entire range of motion. The Hanoun Multi-Cervical is the first machine design to incorporate a multi-axis head assembly with 180 degrees of rotation combined with full range of lateral flexion and extension to account for the multi-axis movement specificity. The free floating lower level head brace has a 35 degree angle tilt capacity and horizontal plane movement allowing training in any angle specific isometric and dynamic modes of muscle action. The MCRP is used in conjunction with a specific individually tailored exercise program in the onsite facility. Recent published outcome data, using the MCRP in their rehab program, from the Melbourne Whiplash Center in Australia is as follows (averages):
