Orthotic therapy is essential to maintaining and restoring structural and functional balance, as well as promoting a discomfort-free lifestyle. Everything in the body is related in some way. For example, if an individual is experiencing eye strain, he or she may get a headache. The same principle applies to the feet. If foot function is in some way impaired, this could reflect on the rest of the body causing pain in the ankles, shins, knees, hips, back and so on up through the body.

Orthotic therapy is often essential for individuals who are overweight or over forty. It is beneficial to children, athletes, seniors, and individuals who do not yet experience any discomfort. With orthotics, prevention of future problems can be achieved. Orthotics are beneficial to arthritics by correcting joint motion and relieving the pain that is associated with arthritis. Orthotics are also very important for diabetics because they may have impaired circulation and limited sensation in their feet which can lead to severe problems.

Langley Sports & Rehabilitation Centre is different from other orthotic companies as the Footmaxx orthotics we provide are created by analysing the unique way each individual's foot moves and distributes the body's weight. Our patients walk across a sensor mat that is connected to a computer. The information is analysed and a Gait Analysis Report is produced which informs the patient whether they need orthotics, and if so why. The orthotics we provide are thin, lightweight and fit in the patient's existing shoes. Our product is superior to the rigid cast orthotics produced by other pediatric labs. Footmaxx Orthotics are worn by 29 Major League Baseball Teams, 13 NFL teams, 8 NHL teams, Team Canada (Men's Hockey), and 3 NBA teams.
