Orthotic Types

Men's/Women's Dress
This orthotic is designed for patients requiring maximum biomechanical control in normal daily walking. The thinness of Footmaxx Dress orthotics plus their exceptional memory/resiliency properties offer excellent motion control and comfort without altering the original fit of everyday footwear.

Women's Fashion
This orthotic is designed for female patients who wear fashion footwear (such as pumps). The thinness of the Fashion orthotic, plus the extra narrow contour, allows unprecedented ease of shoe fit.

Heelmaxx
This very specialised orthotic is designed for use with patients suffering from plantar fasciitis or heel spur syndrome. Our Duramaxx module has a circular cutout removed from under the calcaneous to provide total softness and cushioning in this area. This special modification can be provided to any of our standard model orthotics. The Duramaxx module still offers the ultimate in motion control to improve the foot and leg function for superior support and protection against arch elongation.

Allsport
This full length orthotic is designed for all around sports use for non-professional athletes who require foot protection and the ultimate in motion control to improve foot and leg function. The Footmaxx Allsport also offers excellent shock absorption.

Ski/Skate
This full length orthotic is designed for active patients who ski or skate requiring foot protection and the ultimate in motion control to improve foot and leg function for superior athletic performance. The Footmaxx Ski/Skate also offers excellent shock absorption and just the right amount of control and flexibility to allow normal pronation so the skier/skater can "drive forward." The Ski/Skate orthotic is cut narrower than our regular width orthotics to accommodate the characteristics of ski and skate boots.

Court
This full length orthotic is designed for all court sports that require extreme lateral motions and the "up on the toes" stance commonly needed for a winning performance in these activities. Like our Allsport, Footmaxx Court orthotics supply foot protection and the ultimate in motion control to improve foot and leg function. The Court orthotic also offers excellent shock absorption to protect the metatarsal area of the foot from shear and shock associated with hard court play.
Golf
This full length orthotic is designed for the specialised game of golf. Like our Allsport, Footmaxx Golf orthotics supply foot protection and the ultimate in motion control to improve foot and leg function, but at the same time they do not interfere with the golfer's contralateral foot movements needed while swinging the golf club. A first-ray cut-out helps improve shoe fit and the contralateral supination and pronation motions needed for a proper golf swing. The Golf orthotic also offers excellent shock absorption to protect the foot from arch fatigue, heel pain and forefoot discomfort.

Marathoner
This full length orthotic is designed for either high mileage marathoners or very heavy runners. Like our Allsport, the Marathoner provides foot protection and the ultimate in motion control to improve foot and leg function for superior performance. The Marathoner orthotic is designed to withstand the repetitive stress that it will be subjected to by a marathoner who runs 10 to 15 miles per day.

Professional Sport Orthotics
These customised sport orthotics are designed specifically to meet the needs of professional, amateur and recreational athletes. The types of orthotics include Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Tennis and Ski.

Diabetic Type 1 (Standard Corrective)
This orthotic is designed for the diabetic patient (or any patient with impaired circulation in their limbs) suffering from biomechanical gait abnormalities. Footmaxx Diabetic Type 1 orthotics have a semi-flexible Duramaxx module that offers biomechanical correction and motion control to improve foot and leg function for superior comfort. This device is for the diabetic patient who is wearing regular shoes, and has no history of plantar lesions. A combination poron and plastizote topcover offers excellent softness and shock absorption.

Diabetic Type 2 (Corrective/Accommodative)
The Diabetic Type 2 orthotic is designed for the diabetic patient (or any patient that has impaired circulation in their limbs) that has had skin healing problems (i.e. post lesions), or has active forefoot lesions. Extra depth shoes are often needed for forefoot and toe room to accommodate this device. Footmaxx Diabetic Type 2 has a semi-flexible Duramaxx module that offers motion control to improve foot and leg function for superior comfort. An extra poron bottom cover, extending heel to toe, along with the plastizote and vinyl topcover increases softness and shock absorption. This device is recommended for patients with forefoot lesions only or post-lesion healing. Forefoot ulcers can be unweighted with balance material placed around areas of increased pressure.

Diabetic Type 3 (Accommodative)
The Diabetic Type 3 orthotic is designed as a strictly accommodative device for the brittle diabetic patients. These patients have a history of skin breakdown, active plantar lesions and often midfoot/rearfoot deformities. The Diabetic Type 3 offers superior flexibility and shock absorption with its ultraflexible Duramaxx module and the poron arch fill. The orthotic module edges are thinned so as to not irritate fragile skin. Extra depth shoes are often needed for forefoot and toe room to accommodate this device.

Arthritic Type 1, 2, and 3
These orthotics are prescribed to accommodate an existing deformity, to provide increased shock absorption, or to redistribute pressure away from prominent lesions. Orthotics can control some foot function. Combining these properties appears to reduce inflammation in the joints of the lower limb. Their judicious use in patients with arthritis may help to slow the deterioration of the articulator facets of the joints in the feet. Arthritic 1 is for recently diagnosed Arthritic patients whereas Arthritic 2 is for patients with chronic Arthritis. Arthritic 3 is for the most acute case of Arthritis.
